SDG 16 Plus Monitoring and Review In Asia (2015-2021)

Why Goal 16 Plus

No Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) can or should be evaluated or implemented in isolation from the others and SDG 16 is no exception. It's been witnessed that the countries having a conflict history are lagging behind in SDGs progress. As the core of the 2030 Agenda’s Peaceful, Just and Inclusive pillar, SDG 16+ offers a catalytic opportunity to fully realize the 2030 Agenda, as an integrated and mutuallyreinforcing whole focused on advancing government accountability, building trust, and sustaining peace.

Aim and Objective

The report aims at looking at the regional variation in SDG 16 plus progress reporting and progress in Asia over the last 5 years since the implementation of SDGs of Agenda 2030, based on national case studies.

What is SDG 16+ (Plus)?

No Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) can or should be evaluated or implemented in isolation from the others. SDG 16 is no exception. 24 targets from seven other goals directly measure, using a total of 33 additional indicators, at least one aspect of peace, inclusion, or access to justice. Though not directly, SDG 16 is also inseparably linked with all other SDGs; their related targets

and not disaggregated by country. The efforts will be made for looking at national indicators available to measure 16 Plus progress and past five years and the missing indicators apart from using supplementary indicators
