The SDG Summit, to be held on 18-19 September 2023, is an opportunity to secure the breakthroughs and momentum needed to change course and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

In the lead-up to the Summit, the SDG Action Weekend (16 – 17 September 2023) will provide additional opportunities for Member States, UN entities and stakeholders to convene inside the United Nations Headquarters in New York and to promote and announce commitments and High-Impact Initiatives. It will consist of a “SDG Mobilization Day” (16 September) and a “SDG Acceleration Day” (17 September).

During the SDG Mobilization Day (16 September), stakeholders from all sectors will convene inside the United Nations Headquarters and mobilize towards an ambitious SDG Summit and UN General Assembly High-Level Week. The SDG Acceleration Day (17 September) will be centered around the UN High-Impact Initiatives.

In parallel to the main program of the weekend, a limited number of high-level side events, organized by UN Member States, UN entities, relevant International Organizations and stakeholder networks working in partnership, will also take place.
