On the Occasion of 'International Women's Day ' and in the framework of the 7th Asia Pacific Climate Adaptation Forum, ADA in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Bangkok, UN Women and Jobel Art for Earth organized online SmarTalk "THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION".
ADA made a strong presentation on Women's Role in Climate adaptation in the view of unequal resource allocation, limited decision-making opportunities with an emphasis on the multi-stakeholder partnership, providing opportunities to the grassroots level organizations to ensure balances gendered participation among many recommendations.
The event was made even more powerful with the JOBEL

The Asia Pacific Regional CSO Engagement Mechanism (APRCEM) organised this annual Peoples' Forum titled "Asia Pacific People’s Forum 2021: Beyond Agenda 2030: Asia and the Pacific for Transformative and Genuine Change" this March 17-22, 2021. ADA organized two official side events with its members and partners during the APFSD
As an integrated and mutually reinforcing whole, SDG 16+ delivers on the promise of inclusive societies free from fear and violence. It embodies a transformative and catalytic shift– that peace and sustainable development are mutually reinforcing and dependent and help ensure that SDG 16+ implementation is not forgotten amidst the health crisis created by the COVID-19. The role of citizens-led data and indicators to measure SDG 16+ could be a major breakthrough if accepted. The side event brought together the CSOs from across Asia apart from the global interventions and human right perspective
We also took the opportunity to launch ADA – JANIC – FORUS SDG 16 Plus Report based on 13 countries case studies (India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Vietnam, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Japan, Mongolia, Taiwan, and Kazakhstan)
entitle ‘’Monitoring and Review of SDG 16 Plus at the National and Regional Level ( 2015-2020) in Asia”

The side event was organized by APRN, ADA, and other partner’s support from Asia and Pacific focussed on challenges and opportunities related to CSO-government engagement based on previous CSO lessons learned during VNR reporting and other SDG follow-up mechanisms in the last five years (2015 -2020) with a huge focus on COVID -19 Pandemic that has brought limitations for CSOs participation in the SDGs monitoring and review programs especially with the introduction of various online platforms and forums for engagement, and its impact in the coming years. The CSO colleagues from VNR 2021 countries presented their past VNR experiences especially from Indonesia, Bhutan, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand with Marshall island’s experience as a country that is preparing and presenting for the first time. The mutual learning and sharing experiences would certainly help the CSOs to prepare better in 2021 and later.
