ADA Newsletter- June 2019
Dear ADA Members and Friends,
Am glad to present ADA newsletter, June 2019, edition. With High-Level political Forum just right around the corner, the members, partners, allies are all set to present/showcase their works/activities and issues of the last few years during this global event. This HLPF also marks the end of the first cycle and will be out for review during the UNGA, September 2019 hence the action around the HLPF review is going to be an important point of discussions during many events, this July.
This event is all the more important as there is a will and commitments to change the world, reverse the negative trends including talks around the climate change actions, open discussions around just inclusive and peaceful societies, commitments on a world free of corruptions, money laundering, arms dealing and our right to express for creating a better world for our next generation.
Let’s pledge to keep our fights, our struggles on, and show solidarity to our causes across the world because if we don’t realize the gravity of the problems now, it will be too late.
The month of June was spent preparing and finalizing our plans and activities apart from participating in some important global deliberations with sharing our concerns…getting the voices of the global south heard, where we live in!! Let’s keep our struggles on in order to get our voices heard!!
Please stay tuned to know more about our activities and programs in June and the rest of the year.
Also, please feel free to give your suggestions on how to improve our communication with you on ada2030.secretariat@gmail.com
In solidarity,
Jyotsna Mohan

HLPF Survey for Major Groups and other stakeholders
Since 2015, the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development has become the apex of the follow-up and review processes on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals. The first cycle of the HLPF is now coming to an end, with the HLPF convening twice this year, under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council in July and at the level of Heads of States and Government in September. The conclusion of the first cycle of the HLPF represents a critical opportunity to take stock of how the HLPF has delivered on its functions to promote and support the implementation, follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda and to reflect on opportunities to strengthen the HLPF in the future.
To assist in taking stock of the first cycle of the HLPF, we kindly invite you to complete this short survey which is available in all six UN languages, by 12 July 2019: https://forms.gle/kzizhLbxe7WnR41C7 .It requires approximately 5 minutes to complete.
