1. Open Government Partnership(OGP) Global Summit (7-9, December, Paris)

---------- Forwarded message ----------

Dear colleagues,

From December 7-9, 2016, France will host the Open Government Partnership Global Summit in Paris. Every two years representatives of government, academia, civil society, multilateral organizations, press, and others meet at the OGP Global Summit to exchange experiences, best practices, and progress on open government initiatives and implementation.

Registration is now open for the 2016 OGP Global Summit.

The OGP 2016 Global Summit will focus on building new alliances between governments, civil society, and other reformers. The objectives of the Summit are to promote exchanges, inspire reformers to raise their level of ambition, and for all stakeholders to collectively push the open government agenda forward to address new challenges and ultimately improve the lives of citizens around the world. We  expect to bring together more than 3,000 attendees of the most relevant stakeholders in the open government community, including heads of state, ministers from the 70 member countries, 15 subnational governments, academia, civil society, press, multilateral organization and other thought-leaders. The provisional program is available here and will be updated as the agenda is finalized.

The deadline to register is October 31. If you are requesting travel support, we encourage you to register as soon as possible. Criteria for determining participation and funding from the OGP Support Unit for civil society actors can be found here. Early registration is also encouraged since it'll help facilitate the visa process in time, and get access to hotel rooms before they are booked out.

If you are working towards strengthening open government principles we invite you to participate in the 2016 OGP Global Summit! Please also do circulate this message amongst your colleagues and networks to whom this may be of interest.

Best wishes,

Shreya
