Overall Objectives: Strengthening national networks advocacy for a better policy or institutional coherence for mainstreaming SDGs into national, subnational, and sector development policies, planning, and budgeting processes to progress SDGs and for Multi-stakeholder mechanisms at national, local and sector level for policy consultation etc.

Improve the protection and support to human rights defenders, activists and groups in vulnerable and emergency situations through a multi-country resource hub and rapid response mechanisms.

Support to the diversification of financial resources of civil society. 

Actions to support the structuring of national civil society

1 hub created as a virtual platform., where evidence based stories could be uploaded (one or two countries per month)

promote the Asian networking on “Civic Voice in Response to SDG 16+ on the hub’s virtual platform”

Develop the capacities and knowledge of ADA existing and penitential National CSO Platforms to monitor and defend civic space based on peer learning and new evidence generation

Membership and outreach activities in 

Mekong Region - Thailand, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Timor Leste (Southeast Asia)

Maldives, Bhutan, Sri Lanka (South Asia)

Special privileges to ADA members and potential members by national level for:

Review of all existing laws for the regularization of NGOs / CBOs 

Holding country wide consultation with all related stakeholders 

consolidating the feedback and preparation of National Charter for Civic Spaces (NCCS) 

Policy advocacy forums in all the provinces and regions for reforms in the existing laws and frameworks to regulate NGOs 

Preparation and launch of online national CIVIC Monitor to collect first hand information and data for policy reforms

Sub-national level capacity development of CSOs on SDG 16+

National Campaign on SDG 16+ with CSOs, Parliamentarians and Other stakeholders

National events on resilience of civil society 

skills-based training in project management, grant proposal writing, fundraising, log frame development and managing donor relations. (webinars and podcasts)
