Dear Friends,

Greetings of solidarity! We are pleased to invite you to the Regional Consultation on the launching of a civil society platform on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Asia tentatively called “Asia Civil Society Partnership for Sustainable Development (APSD)” in Bangkok on 14 August 2016.

Attached please find the concept note and draft program and related documents.

The idea of such a regional consultation was discussed among Asian participants who have participated in the process and launching of “Action for Sustainable Development (A4SD)” as a global civil society platform to engage in the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development / SDGs in Bogota, Colombia on 26 to 29 April 2016 during the International Civil Society Week (ICSW) convened by CIVICUS.  (The mission and governance statements adopted in Bogota are attached).

We would like to invite members of global CSO networks on SDGs such asAction for Sustainable Development (Action4SD), Together 2030, Transparency, Accountability and Participation (TAP) Network to join this regional consultation.  You are also welcome to join such networks if you are interested. All participating CSOs are expected to cover their own expenses such as airfare and accommodation in a spirit of shared financial responsibility. The cost of the meeting room and other related expenses are to be covered by the GCAP-Asia and ADA. Funding support may be provided for some CSOs that need financial assistance if sufficient fund is secured in time.
Please indicate your interest by contacting Moon of ADA at ada2030.secretariat@gmail.com or Pradeep of GCAP Asia at pradeep.baisakh@whiteband.org with your name and organization.
Please note that you are also invited to the Asian Civil Society Forum (ACSF) on SDG 16 which will be held in Bangkok on 15 and 16 August 2016.  It is jointly organized by the FORUM-ASIA, ADA, and Asia Democracy Network (ADN).
